P(red = 3 and blue = 4, 5, or 6)
= P(red = 3) * P(blue = 4, 5, or 6)
= (1 / 6) * (3 / 6)
= 1/12
which is answer (c).

The red die has six numbers on it, so the probability that it will show a 3 is one in six or 1/6.
The blue die also has six numbers, so the probablility it has a number greater than 3 (4, 5, 6) is 3 of 6 or 1/2.
To find the combined probability, multiply the two.
The probability is 1/12, c.

a 3 on the red die would be 1/6...the blue die having greater than 3, would be 3/6. 3/6 * 1/6 = c. 1/12

Chances of the red die showing a 3: 1/6
Chances of the blue die showing >3: 3/6, or 1/2
Chances of both: (1/6) * (1/2) = 1/12

Correct answer: C

c, 1/12

1/6 probability that red die shows a 3
3/6 probability that blue shows 4,5, or 6

1/6(3/6) = 3/36 = 1/12

c...1/12

probablity of striking 3 is 1/6
probability of striking 4, 5, or 6 is 3/6

Multiply and get 3/36 or 1/12 (c)
