I've been at my job for 10 years. We receive 3 weeks vacation per year. We offer Short and Long Term Disability for personal illness or injury. We don't have a set amount of personal time, its used at the discretion of the employee and up to the manager if they are abusing it or not. Large employers must offer FMLA to care for sick spouses, children and elderly parents.

I've been at my job for 4.5 years.

We get 2 weeks of vacation and 2 weeks of sick time. After 5 years of employment we get 3 weeks of vacation. And 4 weeks after 10 (I think) years. We also have the option to "purchase" an extra week of vacation with pre-tax dollars; the cost is deducted from each paycheck. If you purchase vacation you can't roll anything over to the next year, otherwise you can.

We get 2 weeks of sick time. We can use it for anything (unless the individual manager is strict about it). Unused sick time goes into an "extended sick leave" account to only be used in cases of extended absence due to disability or something.

I've only been at my job for two months. I receive two weeks of vacation a year, and I earn one sick day for every month I work (so I have two sick days so far). We are able to roll over some of our vacation and sick days from year to year, but I forget how many. We can use our sick days for any one's illness, and also for doctor's appointments.

I've been at my job for a year now and get as many vacation days as I want. I also have as many sick days as I need, but I never do. I am self employed in health and wellness. I love the freedom and it pays more than any job I ever had.
