Java is a type of coffee. All coffee sucks.

Java is also a programming language. It sucks equally as bad. lol

It's a language that compiles on the fly. Which means you run the code instead of making it into an executable file. (a .exe) This makes it VERY slow and VERY VERY VERY bad for programming games in. Unless they are simple games like Yahoo Games. Yahoo games are probably the best made Java games I've ever seen.

The only real use for it is that it will run on Unix,Linux,Windows, and Mac without recompiling or rewriting the program at all.

Javascript was developed by Netscape and is only called JAVAscript to capitalize on compaq's success with the Java language. It has nothing to do with Java.

Java" generally refers to a combination of three things: the Java programming language (a high-level, object-oriented programming language); the Java Virtual Machine (a high-performance virtual machine that executes bytecodes on a specific computing platform, typically abbreviated JVM); and the Java platform, a JVM running compiled Java bytecodes, usually calling on a set of standard libraries such as those provided by Java Standard Edition (SE) or Enterprise Edition (EE). Though coupled by design, the language does not imply the JVM, and vice versa.
