I don't know if this is common or not. A woman's menstrual cycle is about a week or two late, but she still gets her cycle. Then she finds out she's pregnant. Is this possible?

I have taken a pregnancy test. I got a faint positive a few days before my cycle started. It wasn't just spotting- it was a normal cycle.

I would retake the test. It is possible that you WERE pregnant and you miscarried very early and then had a normal cycle.

"A chemical pregnancy means implantation takes place and hCG is produced for a short time. However, this is followed by miscarriage before any other pregnancy symptoms are detected"

My OB told me that 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage! But the majority of the time the miscarriage is so early in the pregnancy, the woman just thinks her period was a bit late.

I do not believe what you experienced was implantation bleeding if it appeared to be a normal menstrual cycle.

"Many women can experience episodes of bleeding and spotting during pregnancy. Bleeding is especially common in the first trimester and about 30% of pregnant women experience bleeding during this time. Although fewer women bleed during the second and third trimesters, spotting is still possible and not all that uncommon. However, though this bleeding may resemble menstruation, it actually is something different altogether."

Have a look at these links I posted below, they have some good information relating to your question!

Yes, anything is normal as far as periods and pregnancy are concerned! Everyone is different. I got my period early when I was preggo, and then not at all the month after. Good Luck!

Yes it is possible, and from what I understand, it is not really a big deal. Just let your doctor know.
