Now, I know that Mike Krzyzewski coaches the most hated team in NCAA basetball, but then again, why do people hate Duke?

People hate Coach K, because he coaches at a school that has been dominant in college BB for a long time. Fans generally hate overly successful teams. Look at UCLA under Wooden. They were hated also. Frankly, to be hated is sort of a compliment (unless you're Carolina; you're hated b/c you suck) because that means you are good. Look at Duke's success. They have pretty much owned the ACC tournament over the last decade, they are the last team to win back to back NCAA titles and they produce talent with class. Their guys are well spoken and for the most part stay out of trouble.

Simply because he is a great coach for a school that is easy to hate. Duke has a heated rivalry with University of North Carolina and is in the competitive Atlantic Coastal Conference. "Coach K" has turned Duke into being known as one of the elite programs for NCAA Basketball. Everyone who Duke beats, which is a lot of schools, hates Coach K because he is the glue and backbone of that organization. However, if he were the coach of your hometown team then you would love him.

I'm a KY fan, but I don't hate Coach K. I think he is one of the best coaches in college basketball. However, I do despise Christian Laettner for hitting the last second winning shot to beat KY in the 1992 NCAA Regional Finals. No, I don't really hate him; I just hate he made the shot. Nothing wrong with Duke and nothing wrong with Coach K.

people hate coach k and duke, because they are such whinny babies all the time. every time they lose it is like the lost their mom. every time they score the whole bench jumps up and starts hugging everyone. coach k complains about everything under the sun. he sits on the bench at a Methodist affiliated school and cusses worse than a sailor the whole game, except when it is crunch time, then he pulls out his rosary beads and starts rubbing them. he is a fake and a joke. anybody that sees his team is going to suck (1995) and all of the sudden has to take a leave of absence, to transfer the losses to the assistant coach, is a sorry S.O.B. through all the crying, floor slapping, stupid fans, hugging, etc... that is why everyone hates duke and coach k.

Because they are considered an academic college that excels in basketball. Nobody likes a winner except themselves. Especially when they win and also are smart. Which is why they stay out of trouble. Duke's players are there to get an education AND play basketball, for the most part. We generally don't like people that have it all. Especially when they beat our team.

Hate Coach K? Never in in a million! It's people like
Coach K that make the game what it is....Coach K is
Duke....Duke is college basketball at its best and Coach
K wouldn't fit in anywhere else!
By the way...I'm a Big Blue Fan....Kentucky Blue....and
Coach K is one reason Kentucky Must Work So Hard
to keep its status!

Jealousy. Everyone wants to see the one on top fall. I'm not a Duke fan,but they are a great basketball program. Like how people are loving it that the Celtics are down

I think people just look at Duke as the school that all of the golden boys go to. They just seem to have everybody every year.

People say because of Duke's success and heated rivalry with North Carolina but a lot of Duke players are jerks who are just too full of themselves, I think folks pick up on that and choose too hate on Duke.

Duke palyers iuse to act as if it was ordained that they win. Now the talent is not there Coach K has to do more coaching he wiil be alright .
