Plus size actually starts at a size 16. However, a plus size model might be as small as a size 8-10 because the modelling industry is wharped.

From what I have seen of the fashion industry, the moment a model has any sign of breasts or a curvy behind, they are classified as "plus size".
Do not know if it is true, but I heard a fashion designer (a woman) theorise that the industry is that way because most of the top designers are gay men, and they prefer the teenage boy figure .... maybe, I do not know why the industry is like that.

The more X's in X-Large the better! Generally plus size is a 14 or up (I'm from Australia...so whatever your equivalent is)

according to trya banks show america's next top model it is size 8. there are two girls on the show who are size 8 and they are both deemed to be plus size.
