Is there a way to update your iPod with certain songs but not replace your whole library?

I recently got a new computer and have not transfered all the songs from the my old computer to my new one. I have a lot of new songs I want to listen to and update onto my iPod from my new computer, but I don't want to replace my whole library of songs from my old computer, I just want to add the songs from my new computer without replacing ALL of my songs.


Is there a way to do this?

Turn off auto sync in iTunes.
You'll be able to upload only songs you want.

Also, when you plug in your iPod, iTunes should ask you if you want to delete what you have or manually select.

hi alienskater! u sure can - the key is to have the "manage music and videos manually" option selected! give this a try:

1. open itunes then plug ur ipod into ur computer.

2. when u plug ur ipod into ur computer, itunes will display a screen - on the Summary tab of this screen, check the box next to "manage music and videos manually".

3. now, on the left side of the itunes window where ur ipod shows up in the list, click the arrow just to left of ur ipod name. the arrow turns into a down arrow and displays a list beneath ur ipod. take note of the "Music" item in this list.

4. then, again on the left side of the itunes window, click on the "Music" item below the Library, select the songs (from the right side of the itunes window) you want to copy to ur ipod, and then drag and drop into the "Music" item in the list below ur ipod in the left side of the itunes window.
