So for my prom, at first everybody in my group wanted to go on this SF Bay cruise which departs from Jefferson St (Pier 41) but now some are not sure. So i was wondering if you guys knew anything around or on Pier 41 for them to do? Or if theres a walking distance place to explore. any information would help. thank you

Pier 39 is fun. You can walk around and see the sea lions on the boardwalk, the dining is anywhere from nice-casual to just ice cream. And there's this old-time arcade museum. It's free to get in, you just wander through it and get to play tons of old silly arcade games. And at Pier 39, there's a carousel for more silly fun. And I bet it's beautiful at night.

My husband and I just took our two grown kids there a couple months ago, and even us adults had a blast!

There's a lot to do right around there. Close by, within walking distance are the wax museum and the Ripley's believe it or not museum. There also used to be a haunted gold mine thing that you walked through but I don't think it's there anymore. There are also silly shops and street performers to walk around and see. Ghirardelli Square is also fun - interesting shops, and a bunch of people could share the "Earthquake Sundae". They could also just walk along the beach or out one of the piers and enjoy the scenery.

Oh yeah, and of course Pier 39, right next door - probably the biggest tourist trap in SF.
