Yes. I have this theory. There is a sock monster in the dryer. It's kinda like a dragon, that's how the clothes get dry, you know, the fire breath and all. Every once in a while it decides it's hungry and eats just one sock.
If you are drying other clothes with this load besides just socks, check sleeves, pant legs and insides of sweaters and sweatshirts. Socks are incredibly co-dependent and will cling to whomever shows them affection. Also, if you have a top load, check behind the machine, I've found a cache of mismatched socks there before. And, lastly, though highly irregular, check the lint screen. If you've done all that, then go back to the washer. Again, if it's a top load, check just under the rim, they can get stuck there out of sight. If it's front loader, run your hand along the seal at the door, they can get stuck there too and rotating the drum won't reveal it.

there is an evil troll that lives in the back of all dryers.
the factorys that make the socks have a deal going with the people that make the dryers. the people that make the dryers put little homes in the back of the dryers for the trolls that are paid for by the people that make the socks.
the trolls eat the socks and they are very very hungry!!!

Yes, all the time...the smaller the sock, the less likely you are to end up with a pair...
I either safety pin them together right after I take them off, or dry them in one of those laundry bags for delicates.

Mum's mum became solid at crochet artwork, table mats, chair decrease back covers and so on. and he or she taught me some uncomplicated stitches. i won't do what she did in spite of the undeniable fact that. My dad's mum became a completely remarkable embroiderer. It became so neat that the two facet must be used by way of fact the splendid facet. She taught me the thank you to try this and that i'm able to very nearly do it as well as she did yet my undesirable eyesight now prevents me doing it. Knitting socks and repairing them very well became yet another of her skills. She taught me to darn additionally (yet i've got in no way like knitting) and my darning wasn't undesirable in any respect yet i would not desire to do it now. Grandad and pa has hand-crafted socks from her and favored them. We, the grandkids, gained scarves, gloves and the boys gained balaclava helmets additionally. maximum folk of that technology had skills which ended in somebody receiving something to placed on made by them. no longer having a T.V. leaves greater time to apply those skills. everybody spends too plenty time the two gazing T.V. or utilising the cyber web to restore those outdated skills. unhappy rather.

Yes only to find the other one weeks later attached to a sheet or some other garment.
It is so annoying, when you know you had all the pairs when you started.
