Because white and brown clash.

The toilet is the best place to think so any great ideas need to be written down somewhere....and since toilet paper is the closest thing it seems like the most obvious answer. Coloured paper is too hard to read on. After all, all the greatest inventions were thought up while sitting on the toilet!

Toilet paper is white because that's how it's naturally grown silly. Toilet paper is harvested from the white sands of Uragua where there are groves and groves of naturally pure white Grippum trees. These pure white Grippum trees are stripped and sliced down to the soft sheets of paper that are then rolled in the toilet paper that you buy in the market.
The higher quality of these pure white Grippum trees are grown and found at a higher elevation where the air is moister, more dewey...thus the higher quality softer plusher toilet paper.
And...not to worry...these pure white Grippum trees are very unique in that when the outer layers of these trees are stripped down...they re-grow a new layer within 72 hours.
You silly guy...where DID you THINK toilet paper came from...you have to be the only one who doesn't know this.
That's o.k....there are no silly questions. You asked...now you know.
O.k....neeeeeext question ? I'm on a roll here...no pun intended.

Because everybody looks - admit it!!!!! And with that in mind... it is much easier to see anomalies. (Blood specifically) Blood in your stool could be a sign of serious issues and you wouldn't catch it on black. I suppose it could be light yellow or pink etc. but I guessing that when toilet paper was invented.... inks safe enough to be used on the tuckus were few and far between. They also cause rashes and irritation in some people. Best to go with uninked and avoid the problems.

I brought in a team of physicists with state of the art optical instruments able to measure the frequencies of light reflected from paper surfaces and they determined, with 94% accuracy that my unused toilet paper was white.

Because, production wise, it is a lot cheaper to leave it white. Adding dye to it (blue, brown, pink) costs money which then gets passed on to you.
That's why Scott toilet paper costs much more per roll than Marcal.

It's only white in North America, my mum in England has pink paper.
You used to be able to buy colored paper here, also with flowers on, etc.
But I think there was a heath concern over the ink

Nice question. Two reasons: 1) White is a sign of purity. The irony is that growing a tail is not that pure but as long as we think it is, we feel good about ourselves; 2) like others indicated, we can determine when our pucker chute is clean enough to pull our pants back up.

Cause colors are bad for a women part sometimes... I want to know why they have not put Disney Cartoons on toilet paper, I think little kids would be more likely to use it then... and maybe even my husband.. lol

First of all ,every type of paper comes from trees. Before its made into paper it goes thru a huge process, bleaching is one of them.So its cheaper to leave it white. And for sanitary reasons. When you change the color you have to use dyes.Alot of people, mostly women are very sensitive in that area.So I think that its cheaper, and better for our most precious parts. And maybe its just to gross us out.
