what exactly is a prep? a girl called me that and i said how am i a prep? she said ur friends with all the popular people, you are one of them and you are all preps....what is a prep in simple terms?

short for preppy, it comes from the kids who were destined for college in high school. They dressed like the college kids and probably because they could afford it. Prep is just a version of prepatory meaning getting ready for college
