The worst anyone can say is no. Right?

Good point. I guess it's just because what today's society thinks is what really matters to people. And for people asking people out, a 'no' is a really big thing. Smart people, like you and I who wonder why people are so afraid of rejection probably don't really care what society thinks. I think it's a psychological thing with people, also.

yeah, i guess it just comes naturally. for people like me we take rejection to a new level and I find myself not being out going or anything just because im scared of what people will think of me. thats my biggest problem and no matter how much i want to change i cant.

well yeah... but with the "NO" come the embarassment that we are asking for something, but we are found wanted therefore were rejected. then how cud we ever face the other person again- after we lose our face. everyone have their pride.

I've never had that problem as I have never met or known someone who didn't like me (in person).

you got it but i guess it is because we don't want to hear what others really feel about us.....and the fact that we might get crushed......
