You don't mention the liquid in whichyou are floating the rocks. If it is mercury then almost all rocks would float.

This depends on the kind of rock. Some rocks have lower densities than water. These are the only rocks that could float in water. Objects only float when their densities are lower than the density of the fluid of which they are submerged.

One of the answerers gave pumice as the type of rock that floats. Pumice does float because it is a solidified foam composed of volcanic material. However there is one other type of rock that floats....

Ice!!. Water ice (whether glacial or polar ice cap ice formed by freezing of seawater) meets all the criteria of a mineral (and a rock): inorganic, crystalline, constant chemical composition. There is no reason to not consider ice (snow, as well) as a mineral aggregate!!

Any material that is less dense that the fluid in which it is suspended will float. That being said there are some "rocks" with a density less than that of water which will float.

Most rocks do not float, but some do, like pumice.

It is a rock formed by volcanoes and is very pourous.
