I got a used suv a year ago wasn't the one I wanted.(Don't ever listen to your mothers) Now it's costing me at every turn. I need to get rid of it but I owe a crazy amount. I know about the negative equity deal. Driving is my life and it's a part of my job. I thinking of just trying to get a brand new car so what if I have a crazy car note. I can't keep putting $ into this crap car. What should I do?

A new car might be a good idea. You said that it is part of your job, you can probably take a depreciation on your taxes and depending on what you use is for you can probably take a mileage deduction as well. These will help offset the payments a little. New cars are much more dependable that 20 years ago and cost less to operate. Unfortunately, a dealer isn't going to give you much for your SUV right now on trade in.

trade it in for a new compact or subcompact car. or sell it, and look for a used Toyota or Honda that was well-maintained. You can find cheap cars at craigslist.com. Click your city or state first. And maintain your new car. Sometimes the techs screw up, so know what to look out for. Educate yourself on car maintenance and repair so that you don't get screwed by a mechanic. You didn't list what the problems were. Every car needs maintenance and replacement of parts. Write about the problems, so that we can understand the situation better.

I agree. Go find an old import. They last a long time. Plus tuneups for their engines are easy plus you can get like a 89
toyota for like under 2,000 on the sides of roads, and ask around people that are in car clubs or that are car maniacs, the used car places are too expensive sumtimes and also the auctions. Just look around. you find those things anywhere.
