"The Long and winding Road" The Beatles
No matter where I'm at or when I hear that song I get really emotional. I actually had to pull off the road while driving the other day and just listen to as it played on the radio. I am a professional musician of over 17 years in a major national recording act and the shear genius of the songwriting of the Beatles especially on that song just kills me. Makes me realize they were the greatest band ever and no matter how hard anyone will ever try, they will never touch that band.
Listen to the stripped down version on "Let it Be Naked" It has all the strings and stuff removed where its just the 4 guys, My God, how did they write that stuff. Makes me just want to quit trying
I know a lot of you younger folks are gonna think I'm crazy, but I guarantee you, your favorite song is a direct result from the influence of THE BEATLES
Their music is just as powerful and undated today as it was 30 years ago
