hi chris! r u talking about recording ur guitar with an external mic on an ipod? well, whatever u r using to record, try moving the mic further away from the guitar, or muffle the mic by covering it with a pillow. or, if possible, lower the input level of the mic.

hope that helps!

The microphone is probably the culprit. There's a couple things you can try:

1) Put the microphone closer to the guitar
2) Get a microphone or acoustic guitar preamp that has a filter to cut down static.
3) Get a better microphone
4) Try using an acoustic pickup on your guitar instead of a microphone

Without knowing exactly what components are in your rig (type of mic, type of recorder, etc.), that's the best I can think of.

Sounds like a bad connection where the mic plugs into the mixer.

Use a pickup for the guitar. It's much cleaner that way.
