Research Paper Help?

Can someone recommend some research topics? Something interesting and theres a lot of information on it.

when it comes to research papers, you can always choose a controversial news topic (abortion, death penalty, etc.), but with this, don't write an opinion, just do the history of the topic, and explain the rationale of the arguments, because when doing a research paper, a comparative analysis is the way to go, its like writing two smaller, similar essays

also makes it a longer paper if you are concerned about length

I recently did a paper for my english class. I am a college freshman just so you know. I did a 15 page paper on child abuse. The causes, factors, facts, and all the information that surrounds child abuse. As well as what the government has in place to help treat and prevent it as well as how it is working. I also thought about doing a paper on Katrina, there is so much info on that, or perhaps Columbine. I am interested in events and such. There are many books coming out on the latter 2 and there are thousands on the child abuse one. I hope this helps just to get your own ideas started. If not, im sorry.

For literature or history topics go to sparknotes.com and look up a book or a time period. Look at the news for current events and you can then google news stories to get your information.
