Its hard but you have to learn. If you get turned down don't quit keep on going. That how the industry is. After all I should I am a model, I work for Abercrombie and Fitch. I also do photos 4 sketchers. Never give up on ur dream keep trying. Don't do it because of peer pressure, only do it if it is ur true passions. If u want to get better, in modeling, join John Robert Powers. Its a really good company I came from it they let me be able to b a model now and I'm just 15. Many celebrities and models came from that company. You should check it out! :)

go to a reputable modelling agnecy.
i don't know your age..but if you are unde 18 have a parent or guardian go with you.
if you are in school..you will only model on weekends
and after school.
you don't need an expensive portfolio.
you can just have a few snapshots taken.
one full face close up..the other full length body .
they just want to see how you photograph.
most agencies have days set aside for walk ins.
find out the times..and just start making the rounds of the agencies...
most important make sure the agency is reputable..and never sign with an agency that wants money from you!
high fashion modeling pays the most..and is the most demanding.
it is a tough and rewarding business..
remember it is a business.
good luck !!!

The fasion world wants tall women with log hair! However you must be skinny anout 100 or 110 pounds. I should know i have a contract with the top modeling agency in the world, Ford Models. I was going through the same thing! I understand. You may want to start your career off with a really good talent agent.

I think the only way you're really going to understand is if you create yourself a portfolio and go to interviews. onemodelplace.com is a great way to have photographers look you up for either TFP (time for print) or paid work. Remember that you NEVER pay to model..they pay you in some form. Expect rejection because what's not perfect to one agency would be ideal to the next. Do try Ford Models ( http://www.fordmodels.com/main.cfm), Wilhemina Agency (http://www.wilhelmina.com/), etc. Reserch a few agencies and go for it.
Best of Luck to you sweetie...we might see you on a runway somewhere!
