My Platy has something wrong with his gills. They are all puffed out. It looks like when a human gets goose bumps, but on a fish. It is wierd, I have no idea what is wrong with him. I really dont want him to die! I have had him for years. My mom says that it is a bacterial infection. I cleaned out the tank 2 days ago. Do you think it is stressed?

Goose bumps?

Sounds like dropsy. Add 1tsp of aquarium salt per gallon and it will help a bit and releave stress. Some remedies are available at local pet stores. Becareful of what you choose. Some medicines will do more harm than good. A vet is best if you want to be sure.

I would say it's either a bacterial infection or a fungus, have it checked out by a vet,he/she will tell you what it is and how to get rid of it.
