Hi killerlegs,
It sounds like the icon itself is spyware. You have a good start with Spybot.
AntiSpyware watches for malicious cookies, spy ware and other malicious things put on your computer by websites that want to spy on you or use your system.
You should have Windows Defender. It is free from Microsoft and watches your system prevents programs from taking over your home page etc.
Go here to read about and get it - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security...
Another free program you should get & run about once a week with Spybot is Adaware. It is also free and you can get it here - http://www.download.com/
With those three you are doing a pretty good job of protecting your system.

Well there are quite a few options for you. You might want to try some of the free software out there today to look for it. I would try AVG Anti-Spyware, I don't use it myself but I use the AVG Anti-Virus and I haven't had a virus in a long time.
Secondly if depending on your computer knowledge you may want to try "Hijack This", Download the program, run a scan, then paste your log file into the form at http://www.hijackthis.de/ It should tell you what could potentially be spyware. You may want to do a bit of research before you delete anything you aren't sure of in that program though. I hope that I could help you in some way or form. Good luck with the spyware battle.
ps: I hope you are using firefox and not IE, you get a lot less stuff like this from Firefox. (www.getfirefox.com)

Well you might have already a program installed to erase spyware.
Try to click with the right button of the mouse instead of the left.
Also, make sure that you have updated spybot and immunize your system with it. Plus try the Ad-aware from Lavasoft http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ it a great anti-spyware.
Do a scan with a antivirus.
Finally, if this don't work at all, you should look what processes is currently running in the background.

In addition to the other programs mentioned, I'd like to recommend an excellent and free program called "Advanced Windows Care Personal", which is available at the below link by clicking on the "Get Freebie" button on that page. It does a superb job of getting rid of not just spyware, but also erroneous registry keys, etc. Hope this helps.

Download Windows Defender from the Microsoft Website. If you're computer is genuine and has a genuine advantage software then there is not problem at all. Once you have downloaded Windows Defender it will either automatically be launched and start scanning or you can do it later. Anyways, just launch Windows Defender and start scanning the entire computer. It will quarantine and delete spyware or any unwanted software in your computer.

I have found AVG antispyware to be the best I have used so far and it is a free version. I have been using the internet for 10 years.

This site (make sure you use IE here):
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm?s_cid=msep
can scan your computer for viruses and spyware, and also give it a tune up.
You can also download and run Ad-Aware. It is also very good at finding spyware (make sure you update it before you run (scan your system with) it for the first time).
