Your likelihood of landing a job in your field of study will depend on two things:
First, is location. Some districts are cutting jobs due to budgetary issues while other districts are growing so rapidly, they can't hire teachers fast enough. Urban schools, in particular, may like to hire you as they need more adult male role-models for their young students...many of whom do not have a father figure in their life.
Second, is your ability. Are you a good teacher? If you are, you will be employable. If not....don't hold your breath. LNCB is pressuring districts to improve....which requires people that can teach well.
(GPA is not going to clinch a job for you if your teaching skills are poor or mediocre.)

If you hold a dual certification, you have a much better chance at landing a position.
Good luck.

Well, your grammar fails to explain how you have a 3.4gpa.

I will try to insult you no further.

It is hard because of the general trend of inflation, combined with falling real estate values and the war in Iraq. All thins you can't control but control you. So, you are left jobless. Plus, elementary school? The janitor earns more. Go get a real job that people want. Its because there are too many education majors all competing for already limited positions. If you can't find a job, move to a place that needs people. Let the job find you, and not the opposite.

Good luck.

It should not be hard for you to get a job, there is a shortage of special ed teachers in most cities. Your coaching is more geared to high school, but some smaller school districts may have crossover.
