I've noticed she hasn't kept the house up very well in the past few Months. Also she has been so busy with her job she doesn't have much time to take my calls during the day. I called her at work because I couldn't find the remote (that she lost) her boss told me that she was too "busy" unless it was an emergency. I'm very addicted to 3 shows I really like. I like to eat at 5:30, yesterday we had to eat at 7pm because of something at her work, bla, bla, bla. Her Dad treats me like s**t, he told me to look for the remote in my work boots..ha, ha, he say's that because he knows I've been out of work for 4 years. My mom had to come over to cook the other night...she said the kitchen was completly wrong, so she rearraged everything the right way...then Patty blows a gasket..she was so mad because my mom helped her out! I couldn't believe how angry she got, my mom said she needs to shut-up and learn from her...I agree!! She just seems to be a little lazy when it comes to doing things.

Work is called work because it is not social time - and if her boss felt the need to tell you she was too busy to talk (not sure why you put it in quotation marks: people get paid to be busy at work), it is probably because personal calls have become a big issue for him/her (translated - perhaps it is putting her job security in jeaprody). If her work situation is precarious, then she will be unable to leave if something comes up; and if her boss knows that you consider a missing remote an emergency, s/he will not likely be very understanding when a real emergency arises (like illness, a heart attack or a death in the family).

It sounds as though she is expected to work full time to support you all and keep house (including cooking) like a woman who doesn't work outside the home. While you are home all day not cooking or cleaning or having a life that keeps you from calling her too often for her boss's comfort. I do not know how this situation arose, or if you have some circumstances that preclude you from keeping house; but perhaps it is time for you all to sit down and clearly delineate household responsibilities. Oftentimes, the person who is not working outside the home bears the responsibilty of running the house (cooking/cleaning/upkeep, etc.). Also, generally the person who uses the kitchen is the one who should arrange it according to how they use it - while your mother's intent may have been to help(and while she may have arranged the kitchen according to generally accepted practices), consider that if already pressed for time and the meat in the pan is about to burn, having the spatula in a different place will be a hinderance rather than a help.

If her behavior has changed, perhaps she is depressed or overwhelmed with her responsibilities. The best thing you can do is try to alleviate some of the stress she is under; love her, support her and show her you care for her. And remember you are married to her and not your mother - that is where you owe your allegiance, just as she owes you hers. Treat her with respect, and earn her respect with your actions. It is hard for a man to be out of work and watch his wife leave every day, but with some introspection and communication, I bet you all can make it work for both of you.

You are the most pathetic man I think I have had the pleasure in reading this. If you do not work it is your duty to get off your butt and clean the house and make dinner and take care of yourself. If I was your wife I would have told you to shove it a long time and **** man I'm a guy. This is the year 2007 not 1947 men are equally responsble in taking care of household duties inside and out. Like washing dishes, doing laundry, vacuuming, etc. Maybe your father in-law treats you like crap because he see's you are nothing but a
lazy prick. Start cleaning and be thankful your wife doesn't tell you to hit the road she is the one working give her some
respect and she should be coming home to a home cooked meal everynight made by you not your MOMMA. You wife has every right to be pissed at you and your mom did you ever think because you never do anything she had the kitchen set up the way she likes it.

GET A JOB OR START CLEANING THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay so she works and you dont??? Then ummm... get a job or clean the house!! Relationships are 50/50 dude and if you cant find the remote please get off your duff and change the channel by the little buttons on the TV! A womens kitchen is her little place and if your mom re-arranged everything how is your wife going to find the things she is looking for. Seriously though if she is working to pay the bills then you need to clean the house instead of expecting her to do it all. Just know you are lucky to have a wife that would put up with that kind of crap! My man would be out so fast he wouldnt know what hit him! If you want to date someone like your mom then I suggest moving back home!

In my house, if my husband don't work he won't eat (according to the Bible)
Your wife works really hard outside the house maybe you can do the work inside the house. In marriage each person has to give what the other one can't, pull the weight of the other one.
Your mother was wrong for rearranging her kitchen. If you want someone like your mother then you should of married someone like you mother. You need to take responsibility and step up when your wife needs you. From what you said it seems as though you are the problem.

I think the problem lies with you honey, as well as your mother and not Patty. See, I blame your mother for raising such a spoiled rotten beast, and I blame you for losing the damn remote! What is Patty going to watch when she gets home from her hard day of screwing her boss?

Two can play at that game.
