A veto means that Congress goes back to work & hopefully does their job right & does what is best for the country, not the Democratic party. I won't hold my breath.

All a veto does is make Bush look bad, he has the funding so he can play army men. He is going down in history as the worst president this country has ever seen.

I think the first guy is confused. Congress was voted in to end the war, not to continue an open-ended civil war. I hope they don't back down. Bush has conceded nothing and expects Congress to cooperate. Good luck with that. The American people want a timetable for us to get out of Iraq. If you don't believe me, go to polling report.com. 59% favor us setting a timetable. 33% do not. Bush can continue to ignore the will of the public, but he will sink his party.

The country did it's best to veto the dynamic duo in Nov 06, but the Cowboy and his horse Cheney didn't get the message. If Bush or his supporters think him vetoing the spending bill won't cement US opposition to his policies and to the GOP - they aren't thinking straight.

First of all genius, it's spelled Iraq. Secondly, if I hear one more bleeding heart liberal say the money saved could have... I'm gonna puke! How about the Dems not put $20 billion worth of pork on the latest troop funding bill ($75 million for peanut storage, and $25 million for spinach farmers are just a few of their brilliant ideas). You liberals give money away like crazy in the form of entitlements. Please stay in California where you libs have successfully destroyed that economy.

Bush/Cheney have gutted the entire Republican party. In the end they (Bush/Cheney) will walk away, without giving the republicans a second thought.
