With both your parents being twins there is a really good chance that she might. Many people beleive that twins are only run from mother to daughter but they can also be passed along from father to daughter. My mom is a twin and I have twin boys. My dad had twin uncles and twin great neices. Being that she is young will slightly reduce the chance but not eliminate it cuz I was 22 when I got pregnant with twins. Also the skipping a generation is not true becuase twins can have twins plus if your parents are twins then you guys wiould have been the skipped generation.

Twins run on the mother's side, not the father's. Is your mother an identical twin or fraternal? Identical is a freak thing that just happens (splitting of the zygote). Fraternal runs in families (spitting out more than one egg). (This is what science has said, not my personal opinion). So if your mother is a fraternal twin, then spitting out more than one egg probably runs in your family. What that means is that you and your sister are more likely than other women to have twins. What does that mean? Not much. My mother is a fraternal twin and between my sisters and I, we've been pregnant 5 times and nary a twin (thank God, in my case).

Only if she dropped more than one egg and both were fertilized (fraternal) otherwise the man she became pregnant by would also have to have identical twins in his family line, if indeed either of your parents are identical twins. Fraternals aren't necessarily a genetic thing.

She has a pretty good chance, but an even better chance of having just one. She'll just have to wait a little while and see! Congrats on being an auntie!

It is really hard to say. I have identical twin brothers and they were the first set of twins ever in our family. Congrats! I'm sure you will make a great aunt! :)

First you would also need to see if your grandparents are twins, if so, it is pretty likely she will have twins, especially since twins are already on both your maternal and paternal sides.

yep great chance that she has twins. its meant to skip a generation. so if your parents didn't have twins themselves..looks like its up to you girls. if your sister doesn't have twins you might be the lucky one :)

twins come from the mother's side so if there are twins on your mother's side of the family, your sister could have twins

It's possible. Has she had an ultrasound yet? It can tell you... she can probably even find out the sex if she wants to.
