I was kidding when I said her step dad is crazy. He just has a minor mental illness.

Mom is just protecting you. No big deal if you don't go to the sleep over or don't have a sleep over. You're still be fine.

I'm 24 never been to one. Mom was and still is very proective over me. I'm married and have a wonderful life living under her roof.

Take Care

If you think too much about it then you'll be stressed out. Make sure that you have TONS of fun stuff planned and by the end of the night you'll be having so much fun you won't even be thinking about missing your mom. And if anyone brings it up just say that it was 2 years ago and your over it.

Take something familiar of your mums with you to sleep with.Does your best friend know about how you feel scared at night? My daughter has a similar problem with a friend of hers.Maybe you should try having sleepovers at your house until you get over your fear.I think you should ask your mum to take you to a counsellor so that she can help you with your fears. This problem is ruining your life.

I think you already have lots of suggestions about sleepovers WITHOUT your Mum but what worries me is that your Mum says you can't go without her and that your friends step dad is crazy.................. Your mum shouldn't be offering to go with you cos that won't help you but if the step dad is really crazy you just shouldn't go

Try taking a piece of clothing or bedding that smells like your mom and sleeping with it when you go. See if your able to call her before you go to bed and say good night. This may help.

well if your planning it then why don't u just have it at your house? or maybe bring something that reminds you of ur mom, like a shirt that smells like her perfume or a picture that u can hid in your pillow, so that when u need to feel her close to u.. she can be there with out anyone else knowing

i know how it is...

what i suggest is bringing one of your mom's sweaters or something of hers that you can cuddle with at night and you could always spray a little of her perfume or something on your pillow or blanket.

and if you do have any issues i wouldn't worry to much about calling her. you are going to your best friends how she should understand if you where truly best friends

and those others teasing you yea they are just jealouse about how close you and your mom are...

Have fun!

bringing your mom would be pretty terrible.

nobody wants an adult to be at their own party unless she invited them.
If you can't live without bringing your mom... stay home. It'll be so much better that way.

i also had that problem. go try real hard not to think about your mom. throw yourself totally into whatever you are doing and it should distract you. it is hardest whenever you decide to go to sleep! but you can do it i have faith in you!
