Evening all! I am in the middle of a lawsuit because my back was injured at work. I am still having problems and I am following docs orders for therapy, shots, etc but I still have pain. I do not take prescription pills unless abs. nec. My problem is my lawyer sent me a letter saying he is asking for 50,000 with no mention of benefits! I call asking if he is going to try for benefits but he never calls back...ever. I know he is busy and he gets paid when I win, but that is not a lot of money if I don't get benefits and I still have a lot of problems. What should I do?

Go to his office. I'm not joking. Call his office first, leave a message with the snob working his phone and tell her that you would like to speak to your lawyer or you are going to start searching for another lawyer. After you leave the message, if he doesn't call you back within two/three hours, go with someone to his offices and wait outside in the lobby until he is free to talk. I'm sure he'll be more than happy to talk with you asap to answer your questions and get you out. Lawyers suck.

I hear tons of complaints regarding lawyers and their shabby treating of clients. Perhaps you should call his office and suggest that it may be a good idea for you to pursue the case through another lawyer since he appears to have too heavy a load to communicate with you.
This is a winning lawsuit so he may not care about pursuing all of the aspects that he should.

Call the lawyer's office and make an appointment and go down there and talk to him . $50,000 is not much after you pay the lawyer. Make him talk to you.

If lawyer never calls back and you're not happy with what he's saying, get another lawyer.

how does he get paid if you get benefits?
think from his point of view...if he is getting a % of the cash settlement, why would he want to ask for benefits if he doesn't get anything out of that.
remember: consider ADR or mediation.
