Story topics? I'll give it a guess.

A simple trip across a ferry boat. Start with the preparation for a day trip to the beach. Describe the excitement of experiencing something new. Mention the wait in line and the tightly compacted parking arraignments. The loud air horn sounds the signal for departure. Don't forget to mention that you fed the seagulls at the rear of the boat. You also went up to the observation deck and saw dolphins 'rolling' in the water in search of food. Sail boats and large ships coming and going in a busy port city. And finally end with the story of a sunburn and the soothing cream applied for comfort. And as you fall-off to sleep you could swear that you can still feel the rocking and rolling of the ferryboat ride. Weather clear; seas calm. Wind from the south/southeast about 15 mph. The unforgettable smell of salt air.

Always write about what you know. Write about what you feel passionate about. How about a topic about a family member or a good friend? What are your interests and hobbies? Is there a world situation that you feel strongly about? There is a technique called Freewriting. Get a blank piece of paper and just start writing and see if you can come up with a story idea. Just keep writing for about ten minutes. If you cannot tjhink of anything to write, write that. You will have serveral ideas after ten minutes and several possible story topics.
