The more you consider race or skin color in the the situation, the more that it will become a greater issue. Is it possible that she also feels attracted to you, and, thus, is slightly uncomfortable around you? Or are you sure that it is definitely a race issue? If you talk a little, and you want to take the relationship further, ask her out. Don't say its a date, but just ask her to hang out with you on a Friday night. Get to know her better, which will help relax her around you. Go to the movies or out to a dance or something just to make her more comfortable with you and vice versa. Don't try to construct a relationship out of thin air with someone who you are not even completely comfortable around if you really want it to work out.

I hope that helps. Thanks for posting an actual LGBT question!

That's a tricky one. It's a shame that she doesn't feel comfortable being in the school environment. Maybe you could try to meet up with her outside of school where it won't bug her so much. She may feel calmer in the open spaces.

Tell her how you really feel. I'm not white, I'm Puerto Rican and Hawaiian...and my girlfriend is white...there have been some differences but nothing that we couldn't get passed because we are so into each other....Just tell her how you feel and go from there....hope it works out....

Ask her if she wants to hang out with you outside of school. Get to be friends, and then see if you still want to "go to the next level." If so, talk about it with each other.

I hope things work out for the best. =] Good luck.

if you two are dating then keep it casual and cool. Don't move too fast. Continue getting to know her before doing anything brash. Unless she is the one to put the moves on you that is. -devilish grin- :D Until then good luck, embrace the time you are having with her.
