I was browsing in the site and I saw too many people that said basketball doesnt make you tall at all. Are yo guys a doctor ? Basketball Makes you tall.
If you are -18 and yo are short lets play basketball because Jumping makes you tall.

First giraffes had a little neck but they tried to eat leaves so they jumped and draged their necks to eat the leaves and thats why they have a tall and long neck. I found it in a book.

Are you reading Dr. Seus? If anything basketball makes you short. If you do to many physical things when young your bones growth plates close quicker. Once your growth plates are merged you stop growing. That's why gymnast and people that exercise a lot at youth are shorter.

They didn't jump and drag their necks. That idea comes from an outdated theory called the Inheritance of Acquired Traits. When the leaves started getting higher, only the giraffes with longer necks could reach. Only those giraffes survived and reproduced, so the next generation had longer necks. Over millions of years, this process caused giraffes to have huge necks.
Anyway, jumping doesn't make you taller. Tell me the name of that book; I want to know who's spreading this garbage.

Yeah man, I see where you're going. Like all those wheel chair ball players are evolving into tall dudes. And like the chicks that play are tall. Oh, and all these football players are getting short coz of all those pads that hold them down. Um, and, ah, I think that because in the McDonalds ad Michael Jordan jumped to the moon he must be like 12 ft tall. Wow man, you've cracked the great evolutionary question.

Well, I'm not sure if this is asked in seriousness or not, but I'll treat it as if it were.

Giraffes developed long necks over many generations: the giraffes with longer necks survived because they were able to reach more food. Over time, the giraffes with longer necks were able to reproduce more, creating a population of giraffes with longer necks.

Basketball has nothing to do with survival. Jumping does not make you tall.

are you for real? you really think jumping makes you tall??? how old are you and what ridiculous books are you reading?

sorry to disappoint you, my friend, but its called genetics...

the reason giraffes have long necks is due to a very long period of time and adaptation. its not like one day they decided they wanted long necks and they woke up with long necks.

if your parents are both 5 feet tall, unless your grandparents were giants or you have some sort of medical condition, you'll be stuck being a shorty. jumping will do nothing but strengthen your calf muscles.

It stretches your arms and legs, Playing basketball does help you grow, but you need to play for a few years. But it won't be drastic you still need to do other things to help you grow, but it's mostly natural.
