Ok, I know that tanning salons aren't good for us, our skin.. etc. With that said, is it at all dangerous for my unborn baby in my 3rd trimester (33rd week)? I have a wedding to go to, and although i won't have the best dress or figure, I'd like to at least have a little glow in my face! --I DO NOT need the lectures about what tanning will do to me- please only reply if you have info @ the health of my baby. Thanks!

I tanned thru two pregnancies, both kids normal. My OBGYN said that the biggest danger in using a tanning bed while preg is that you could overheat your body. The tanning rays only penetrate a few mm of skin. I just drank lots of water and kept a fan on and didn't stay in long and we were fine. But you won't get ANY doctor to advise that.

I think the concern is just that your body will get overheated. i personally don't think it's worth the risk, try a self-tanner or find a tanning salon in your area that has just a face tanner. (Leather chair with lights just at your face.) I used to work at a tanning salon and was instructed by the owner never to let pregnant women tan. you may run into that problem.

never get in a tanning bed while pregnant. The risks outweigh the benefits by far.
I will be pregnant most of the summer and I have no choice but to be white as a ghost. The baby is worth it.

i don't think it's too good but maybe if u stayed in for a little while with a fan or something...maybe look for a brand tht does tht rub on tan or w/e tht would probably be safer than going to a tanning bed but i'd be careful and get a good brand if u do tht b/c if u get a cheap kind it might turn u orangish.....good luck and congrats

Boy, I wouldn't risk it. Use a self-tanner instead. You'd have to go numerous times to get a tan anyway on the beds, but you can apply and re-apply the cream and it's much safer.

DO NOT GO TANNING ANYTIME DURING A PREGNANCY. im surprised your obgyn didnt tell you that. that was one of the first things i was told along with no hot tubs during pregnancy.

i'm sure it's fine, just don't over heat, but you could always use self tanning creams. i love coppertone gradual tan.

i'm also 33 weeks pg. :) only 7 weeks to go!!
