Market America is a great home based unfranchised one on one marketing product brokerage online business. It is similiar to a franchise (so you OWN your business) but without the franchising fees. I am well on my way to making over $100,000 by next year. Its awesome and NO ONE has their compensation plan! However, like any business you get paid for working it. Don't work, you don't make money, at least when starting. I have tried those low cost or no fees businesses and they are a scam too. Waste of time. Why go to a company that you didn't put any money into, they have nothing to lose if they don't pay you? The ones that won't provide you a 1099 are scams too.

You might try mystery shopping. Although you do have to leave your home to perform the actual "shop" you are able to pick and chose which shops you perform. One word of advice from an experienced shopper--do NOT pay to shop. There are numerous Yahoo! Groups dedicated to mystery shopping. Look for one with a large amount of members and also be sure that it is a moderated group and join. You want a moderated group so that you can avoid all that web spam we all hate. Once your membership has been approved ask questions! It has been my experience with mystery shopping that other shoppers are more than willing to help a 'newbie'. Mystery shopping can be a great way to earn money. Please understand up front, you cannot expect to earn enough to support yourself. BUT, you can supplement an income or just do the occasional shop that suits your needs or desires.

The BEST website would be to go to www.wahm.com/forum
This has tons of people that work from home, it's a huge network/forum with thousands of people. They'll tell you if something is a scam or not, and they'll help you in any work at home opportunities. They provide feedback on lots of companies, and also give lots of leads. It's a great place.
