I'm looking for snake/lizard that is relatively easy to care for and basically good for begginers, but doesn't live more than 7 years (I'm looking for a short-term commitment) prefferably around 3. Thanks.

NOT a Bearded Dragon, or any form of snakes. Most all snakes live for about 10-20+ years.. Bearded Dragons live about 5-10 with good care. I'd recommend a leapord gecko of sorts. If you don't want a reptile that lives longer than 7 years, why get one.. most live longer than that. An Egyptian Euromastyix lives up to 7 years. Most Chameleons live about 5-6 years. Frilled Lizards live up to 7. Anoles live around 3 years, and they're like 6-8 inches. That might be a good one...

I would recommend anoles, they don't live very long and are relatively easy to take care for. Even then, they can live around 5-7 yrs.

Basically, any reptile will not live long enough if not given the proper care.... so if you don't feel fully commited, just wait until you feel more prepared to get a reptile. For those that said that beardies and chameleons live less than 5 yrs, they simply didn't give the proper care.

A chameleon will life for about 3 and a half years, and a bearded dragon will live 4-10 years.

It is hard to find reptiles with short life-spans, but these are probably your best bet...

Get a salamander. They are one of the most interesting reptiles one can find. Their limbs regenerate dude! And its nice to see them swimming around their "caves" you provide for them.

I don't think you should have any pets considering you don't REALLY want a commitment, get yourself a PC it would do the job
