So I read Eragon, thought it was an awesome book, couldn't wait to read Eldest, when I did I was so bored and disappointed that I couldn't even finish it. Anyone agree? Oh yeah, the movie blowed too.

I didn't get as far as you did. I got Eragon and couldn't get through that, mostly because it sounded too much like the Anne McCaffrey tales I read years ago (and loved!) I saw so many positive reviews on it here though that I had to check it out. I was determined, but just couldn't get into it.

I was wondering about the movie. If you didn't compare it with the book, would it be okay as a fantasy film? I like this genre and fantasy films are often few and far between - especially with dragons.

You going to try to read the third one? I thought about getting the second just to see if the author's style had changed much. Sounds like I should hold up on that.

Totally agree.
I didn't see the movie, b/c I knew it was going to be bad. I feel like the second one was too much of an amaturish attempt to keep a good story alive. Two of my friends and I all individually guessed the ending correctly. That's just sad. And I've decided after reading Eldest that it's a little too similar to LoTR, which just ruined it all.
But because I'm such a dork, I will buy the last one and read it as soon as I get it, non-stop.

Books are always better then the movie they make of it. I wasn't a fan of the movie, but people who never read the book really enjoyed the movie.

I liked the second book. It was well done. The second book is a bridge to the third. You will see. Although it is true that the second book dragged on a little, all the info given was and is necessary to the third book.

I can't wait for him to finish the third book!

I agree Eargon was a great book but Eldest did drag on. Im waiting for third to see how it goes. Im just a sucker for Fantasy books. Now the movie was not that bad, I thought they did a good job.
