Its as easy as typing "boron history" or "boron uses" or even just "boron" into a search engine.

Here's a great site with tons of Boron history
http://www.du.edu/~jcalvert/phys/boron.htm

It's Elemental!
http://education.jlab.org/itselemental/ele005.html

Its also a Visual Element
http://www.chemsoc.org/VISELEMENTS/pages/boron.html

Los Alamos has some stuff to add
http://periodic.lanl.gov/elements/5.html

If you want to know where to get it, ask the US Geological Survey
http://minerals.usgs.gov/minerals/pubs/commodity/boron/

And, of course, the ubiquitous Wikipedia entry
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boron

Go to the wikapedia. I'm sure they have something. Boron is pretty reactive, and forms borates with oxygen. It used to be used in scouring powders and is still used for laundry as a cleanser and a weak bleach and was mined in the 19th century in the west. Supposedly it was hauled by wagons powered by 40 mule teams. You'll still see this on "Borax" boxes. In organic chemistry, compounds call boranes can be formed which are analogues of carbon compounds.
