I have never read anything that suggests Halliburton is moving more than one man to Dubai and have never seen anything to suggest taxes can be avoided. The "no-bid" contract basically pays 2% profit (cost plus). How much profit does that relate to over the past five years as compared to the other sources of profit? The people ranting about avoiding taxes and acting like a company is pulling out of the US are really showing their lack of gray matter. Keep in mind their biggest competitor is French (I'm sure most anti-Halliburton people do not know who that is) and the most significant petroleum area is the Middle East (surely they know that).

Because Halliburton is an oil-field services contractor. Most companies in this industry are concentrating on providing services to the middle east, and Halliburton needs to do the same to remain competitive and sieze marketshare.

Headquarters are not moving there. The CEO is going to spend more time there to enhance Halliburton's share of the market.

They have an inside informant and are now into servicing wars, not oil fields. Where do you think the next Vietnam is? Can you say Middle East? We won't get out of there for decades, once we finally get smart enough to get out of Iraq, then we"ll be in Iran, Then back to Iraq, Then Syria, The Middle East has been at war since the beginning of time and hasn't stopped yet. We should have never stirred up that hornets nest, and dealt with the real terrorists with counter terrorist units not the National Guard.

Why would any company who's major operations are oversea remain in this country, and face the tax consequences they are subject to. If the move would benefit that company, and it's Shareholders!
