They are both programming languages that can be used for creating extremely basic or advanced programs. They really don't have alot in common.

If you are looking for just a general interpretation of the differences then---

Visual Basic is more of a beginners programming language, almost any person who has had no prior computer programming experience can sit down and in a few minutes create a basic VB program.

with Prolog there is more of an advanced sence, you can do far more with Prolog than you can with VB however it is much more advanced.
