It is somewhere between $75 and $80 per DIEM! I was also watching a Yankee broadcast where the announcer was talking about the fact that millionaires get meal money, and he also said that they "act like little kids when they get it". They gather around to get their meal money then take off, all excited. I thought that was both funny and sad at the same time.

Its a federal law. An employer that makes its employees travel for more 24 hours is required to pay for or reimburse meals. Most companies use the gov. established per diem rates that vary from city to city. Other companies pay a flat rate per day. Either way, MLB has no choice but to buy lunch.

Yes the players make millions but the owners make 10x that and have to audacity to charge $8 for a beer; so its not so bad that they pick up the check.

You don't need meal money-you can cook right at home. I have this grill for sale. It will cost you more than I bought it for but I'll throw in a signed ball.
That's all I have to say about that.

I don't know about a week, but you know Alex Rodriguez from the Yankees?

He's the most highest paid player in the MLB right now. He gets $1,500 an inning!!

That's insane.

They are required to travel for work, which means by law they are to be compensated for meals when working out of town.

Honestly don't remember where I read it, but I thought it was @$150/day. I do know I read it SOMEWHERE though.
