i agree, investing in yourself is smart, but what if the dollar takes a huge dive and u lost all the money u worked for all your life? im young and dont have that much to put into investments anyways but it would be nice to have some security in knowing that if the shizz hit the fan that my work wouldnt be for nothing.

yes it is, gold is going to be one of the only things that have value in some kind of catrastophe

invest in yourself...don't worry, be happy.
life is too short to worry about terrorism or stashing wealth under a mountain. I don't know if you are really looking for investments, which I know a lot about, or are screaming for help with an unhappy life. Get happiness in your life, Smell the flowers, enjoy the sunshine, help some one else.
Once your life is on an even keel, then look to the future.

Asset Allocation..... taking a percentage of different asset classes is the best solution. Historically your approach is not safe for your financial well being.
