San Diego all ready has a great foundation for a new coach to work. Most coaches who go to new teams usually don't go to a franchise that was 14-2 in the AFC just a season ago. They mostly head to teams there building towards the future.

Your new coach Turner is heading into a situation where he has a good solid defense, a great running back and a young QB in Rivers with good potential. I think the biggest question for the new SD headcoach is what kind of play is he going to get out of his WRs. That's one thing I think SD lacks is a big time threat at wide-out. The Baltimore Ravens exposed that when they where able to contain LT, and deal the Chargers one of their only 2 losses on the regular season.

Hopefully the coaching will improve the WR performance that I think SD needs. I don't really think a change in coaching can hurt the Chargers superbowl chances. They are still one of the best teams overall in the AFC. LT and the o-line make that offense go, and Rivers manages his end of the deal very well for a young QB. It's time for the wide-outs in SD to come up big in the big games though if the Chargers want that Vince Lombardi trophy if you ask me.

They should be fine. The problem again will be not so much in getting to the playoffs, even with the tougher schedule. It is where they seed in the playoffs.

1) I think Cutler is still one year away in Denver, but if he turns it on and with at tough KC Chiefs, getting a division championship again will be crucial for the Chargers. A wildcard team may not suit well for the Chargers.

2) Picking up a talented team and coaching well in the regular season is one thing, going head to head in the playoffs against the likes of Dungy, Bellichick, Billick, and Shanahan in the AFC can be a tall order.

3) Talent, yes... Coaching changes affecting the regular season, no... Post season...???, I don't even think Norv Turner can mess this up.

The coaching staff changes will not effect the team that much. Norv Turner implemented the same offense back in 2001. He developed LT into what he is now. Cam Cameron was a Turner protege who only expanded on it. Tuner will get inside of Rivers' head and find out what makes him tick to become more involved in the offense. He also knows at this stage in his career, he knows nothing about defense. He will let the defensive coordinator do his job and focus on the offense.

As for the defense, there are 11 guys who are looking to show that the regression last year was just a fluke. The defensive philosophy is not changing, it will still be a 3-4. The change will be the mindset of the players. Especially for Merriman, who will try to prove that his steroid induced suspension last year was not a sign of what made him a good player. Also Luis Castillo will get back to stopping the run like he used to instead of trying to accumulate sacks as he seemed to do last year. The corners are still a question on this defense, but maybe with some added fury on the line to get pressure, the pressure will be off of them.

My concern is LT's durability. After carrying the load last year, I have to wonder if the work isn't getting to him. With his emotional exit last year, I wonder if the pressure is getting to him. Also the physical toll that a Norv Turner run-oriented offense takes on RB's could catch up to him and his neck, knees, and back. I would look for LT to get vocal with his team about mid-season if he is still comprising of 60-70% of the teams total offense. Remember what has happened to RB's with record breaking seasons in the past like Priest Holmes, Jamal Lewis, Shaun Alexander, and Emmit Smith. All these essentially got nagging injuries the following year that reduced their production.

Well I don't know, they to me sound like a favorite darkhorse. They still have LT and a developing Rivers at QB.They need to use their receivers more instead of usin LT and Gates.Defense is going to be a big question mark, because that is what killed them last season.Hopefully they will do good on D since they got 2 guys they actually can run a championship caliber defense.Offense will be good, since they will be running the same plays that Turner put in.I personally did not like Turner gettin the HC job b/c of the last 2 places he coached,he basically pushed the raiders and redskins back to a point of almost no return.Well I guess we will have to wait next season if they make it or not.

we'll have to see, because obviously norv turner is not a proven coach come playoff time, or at any time for that matter...anyone can take this team to the playoffs but whether or not they win will be a reflection of how good turner and his staff prepares them
