I'm a libertarian so I can't speak for the "Cons" but a collective like the borg is more in line with leftist idealogy. You know one for all, and the needs of the many outweight the needs of the few. War against the individual, from each according to his ability to each according to his needs. That is leftist collectivism.

Resistance is futile. The best way to destroy the collectivist is to join them. Become non-productive and a burden to society. The cost of financing the social programs will crush the system. Just as it did the soviet union.

We are the Republicans, you will be assimilated, resistance is futile...

Your technological and biological distinctiveness will be added to our own...

Uh, yes, I do listen Rush and Sean whenever I can.

On a side note, I found this while searching for Star Trek, so your new assimilation strategy is working...

How many ellipses can I use in one answer?...

Yes, we have...

We are the Republicans.... Lower your taxes and surrender your gays. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Your life, as it has been, is over. Resistance is futile.
