1). 1/2 * 6x + 1/2 * 8y
= 3x +4y
2) First arrange it in the standard form, ax^2 + bx + c
that will give you 5x^2- 6x -9
Factor it then I'm not able to do it.
3)Add the like terms.
= 13+ 8x

(1/2) (6x + 8y)
= (1/2)(6x) + (1/2) (8y)
= (6/2) x + (8/2) y
= 3x + 4y.

5x^2 - 13 + 6x + 4
= 5x^2 + 6x - 9

8 + 7x - 4 + 9 + x
= (7x + 1x) + (8 - 4 + 9)
= (7+1)x + 13
= 8x + 13.

1/2 is the same as .5
So take .5 (6x) = 3x
Then .5 (8y) = 4y
So the expression is 3x + 4y
3x + 4y is the answer, you cant do anything more with it.
