So for the longest time I've wanted the iPhone. But after seeing the Helio Ocean sod the iPhone =)
http://www.helio.com/page?p=devices_ocean_static&
Now if I get the Helio Ocean I have to get Helio service. But I've never really heard of them, or at least not as a cell carrier so I'm worried if I'll have insanely crappy service.
Do you know if Helio has good service? As good as Cingular or T-Mobile?
Thanks,

when i saw that you asked if it was "as good as cingular?" i had to wait a few minutes to answer from laughing . sorry but not even close there coverage is all rented from other providers and very very limited to small coverage only in major cities midwest to the west coast. unless you really want the ocean or heat phones id just go with a major provider verizon or the best in indusrty cingular

I switched from Cingular to Helio about 3 months ago. I will NEVER go back to that crappy carrier and their price gouges and horrible customer service. Have you noticed that they were called Cingular, but then bought out AT&T, made all AT&T customers replace their SIM cards and get Cingular ones, but now are called the "new AT&T"? Yeah, great company. lol Anyway, Helio is amazing. I live in Missouri and have awesome coverage wherever I go. (BTW, I have the Helio Drift, but will probably get the Ocean VERY soon). The Drift and the Ocean both have the 2MP camera, expandable micro SD memory, and huge internal memory perfect for mp3's. The 3G internet is fast and reliable, has MySpace mobile, etc. The plans are amazing too. You can get the "All-in" plan where you can pick your amount of minutes and then everything else is UNLIMITED. Unlimited data/internet usage, unlimited text/mms/picture messaging, etc. They are bluetooth compatible, and have usb transfer (perfect for transferring mp3's and pictures). For what little you pay a month, you get a awesome looking phone with a million features. Hope this helps!

HELIO is massive. I have had them for 3 years now and the sea is massive. Helio service works off of Cingular and sprint. So if you're in an area that would not get Cingular besides the indisputable fact that it does get sprint you get service! Their customer help is massive and also you'll attempt them for 30 days and in case you don't like them you do not could pay a dollar! also, whenever you signal a chum up you get a month's properly worth of service for free!! that is really, really staggering. no longer to point that their phones are staggering. Helio continues to be no longer really huge and so that you're sure to be the guy with the best telephone!!

If price is an issue:
Follow this link right now:
http://www.inphonic.com/autocontent.aspx?pageid=1165&referringdomain=5linx&refcode1=L265458
5linx has top of the line phones and most come free, with instant rebates of $50 or more and the plans are quite reasonable. All you need is a credit or debit card.
If you can't follow the link try this:
www.5linx.net/lisaandthomas (under Products, Mobile Phones)
Its a good way to get a quality phone for cheaper than the big companies charge, dude!

It's hard to answer. Being that you are in New York, I would try to find some people there who use it there and ask how they feel about it. Perhaps you could post another question on here or search for some forums.
