Technically, there aren't nine planets anymore (pluto has been re-classified). so tell your teacher she's teaching you the wrong information.
the order is: mercury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune, and (even though it's NOT a planet) pluto.
you can use what's called a pneumonic device:
My
Very
Energetic
Mother
Just
Saved
Us
Nickles
so you can remember the first letters (since each starts with a different one). of course, you can make up any phrase you want that will be easily remembered. This helps for remembering things in a particular order.

I know there are various other mnemonics, but I'm afraid I just remember the one that goes Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto.
Although officially (at least according to the IAU) Pluto isn't on the list any more...

You gotta remember pluto on your own, or add "and his dog Pluto"
