Basically just what the question line said. I've always just bought the standard version. But apparently there's a deluxe version and an adult version, which could just be a UK thing. What's the difference from the norm?

The difference is only in the covers. Probably because some adults might be a little embarrassed or uncomfortable reading a book with a cover that makes it really obvious that it's meant primarily as children's literature.

Then again, I'm sure some people - not only adults - might just find the adult edition covers more aesthetically appealing.

From what I've read, the deluxe edition includes many pages with illustrations, and has nicer binding.

Here's the info on deluxe editions from Amazon.com:

Deluxe Edition Details
The Deluxe Edition includes an exclusive insert featuring near-scale reproductions of Mary GrandPré's interior art, as well as never-before-seen full-color frontispiece art on special paper. The custom-designed slipcase is foil-stamped and contains a full-cloth case book that has been blind-stamped on front and back cover with foil stamping on the spine. The book includes full-color endpapers featuring the jacket art from the trade edition and a wraparound jacket featuring art created especially for this edition by Mary GrandPré.

As for differences in versions - I bought my Mom the first one, UK version, and the only differences she noted were some changes in language (like Mum instead of Mom) and the title is a bit different.

WOW. There's a huge difference in covers in the UK, huh? Maybe it is embarrassment. Crazy. Amazon here only has two versions - regular and deluxe (and I think ours still shows the lovely black cover which gives away nothing!)

1/5 Bloomsbury are putting new covers on their Harry Potter adult versions, to make them look more like the recent Order of the Phoenix one
4/5 It seems that some adults feel embarrased to be seen reading the kids' versions, so have been given a special one

See what happens? I get curious and have to look around. Those adult covers are pretty awesome.

in simple terms the artwork on the front conceal. contained in the tale is precisely the comparable. The layout on the conceal is meant to be greater eye-catching to person readers, so as that they use much less fantastic colorings and save it somewhat plainer. :)
