but christine, maybe he needs to be honest, why chase your dreams for years, thinking you're going to be famous only to be let down constantly, wouldt you rather have someone tell you the truth then you can give up trying?? rather than waste your time trying??

I love the man! I think he's brilliant.
Unfortunately, people over here aren't great with criticism, but I respect that. Hell, if it was my production company putting out the money for the winner of Idol, I would be honest like that too. Who wants someone that's going to lose them money.

Americans like and appreciate honesty and directness...
and Simon exhibits those qualities...it's just the way he is.
Someone needs to step up and tell some of those idiot contestants they can't sing and have no business being on any stage or trying out for any contest.
Certainly you're not going to get that from Randy or whatsername.

I like him very much, he has always right comments, but I think is seems less interest this year; back 2-3 years ago
he would have ask those voters "Sanjaya??? What is wrong with you all???, but, now, he didn't seem to even care. Guess he has realize, it's not a singing competition but a popularity contest...

It depend what you mean by like - I like his honesty in his music judgings but sometimes he gets a little mean but he's probably thinking alot of the things that we think but would be afraid to say it. I've met and known alot more annoying people than Simon that's for sure. I think he could be quite interesting if he would be sitting in my kitchen right now.

He is interesting because he does not sugar coat his opinion.
He does not coddle the contestants and in real entertainment life , you need a very thick skin.
Softies have a short life in the hollywierd world .

We love to hate him here in America. Often he says the exact same thing we're thinking though!

He's very honest and knows what he's talking about. I just wish he's sneeze and knock Sanjaya off the stage.

I'm not fond of American Idle.
I'm suprised Randy Jackson played Bass in Journey at one time.

I like him. It's refreshing to see someone who is genuine, even if he seems a little rude.
