The fansub group that was doing Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, stopped because while they were subbing it, it was lisensed for American Distrobution by ADV Films. And, many fansubbers, drop the projects they fansub once a show is lisensed. Unfortunatly, ADV itself, also dropped it's lisense of the show when it couldn't find a television station that was willing to broadcast it, so it's kind of like a floating title now.
Basically whoever was fansubbing, didn't pick it up after ADV stopped it's lisense and therefore there haven't been more fansubs of it.

I think it's because people stopped watching them? I'm not sure...I started the anime but stopped when there were no more subtitled episodes..so yeah...I think you can check online....
