I own a ipod shuffle that i just purchased today
Currently, i am at a realitives house for vacation, and i have a working itunes at my house (i own 2 ipods as of now). My question is: I want to put songs on the ipod now from my realatives house, but will my ipod still connect at my house, since ive heard, and seen first-hand that you cannot connect an ipod with a different itunes? Thanks! oh, i own a windows outfitted computer, but im pretty sure this is irrelevant.

Never connect a iPod to a Mac! The last person is an idiot!!!

Apple built the iPod and it built iTunes to work on a Mac FIRST! Then is built is to work on PC's (just to be nice, and make a ton of more $$).

Everything about managing the tunes was very well said by the third answerer.

yes, U can do that,
before you connect your ipod shuffle, create a playlist on the itunes of your relatives, and select the song that you want to have.. then plug the ipod shuffle and syncs only with the playlist that you create...
all the secret is on the settings of each iPod ... if you want to keep your music on your iPod just put the settings on MANUAL sync... and that's all !!!
drag all the music into playlists of all the computers of your friends... just keep in mind that your computer is Windows ... so... never connect your iPod on a Mac because you can erase your iPod...
oh!! keep in mind too the copyrigth of the authors...

hi mr domino! sure, u can connect ur ipod to multiple computers/itunes, but the operating system has to be the same on all the computers (windows or mac os x).

the key is to have the "manage music and videos manually" option selected! here's how you set that option (do this on ur relative's itunes, then do this on ur itunes when u get home):

1. open itunes then plug ur ipod into ur computer.

2. when u plug ur ipod into ur computer, itunes will display a screen - on the Summary tab of this screen, check the box next to "manage music and videos manually".

here's some info from the apple website: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61675

once u get ur songs on ur ipod, please subscribe to my FREE video podcast on iTunes and share my vids with ur relatives! http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=183309259

no. due to copyright laws, you can only use one computer to put music on your itunes. if you add songs to your itunes there and then try to add songs from a different computer, the ipod will erase the existing songs. your best bet is to e-mail/burn onto a CD the songs you want from your relatives and put them on YOUR computer.
