hi, my story is this: my downstairs neighbor has a wireless router and she gave me a connection via ethernet through the windows, lol, but id like to know if she can browse through my computer? my boss at my job told me that she can only see whats inside a folder called."shared directories" which i dont see anywhere, can someone please tell me if she can see into my computer. thanx

Hi Colombichaso,

Your boss is right. She would only be able to connect to shared folders.

Unless you set a folder up to be shared the default is not shared. To check a folder right click on it and select Properties then Sharing.

Should you want to share a folder create one, right click on it, select properties and select share. Anything you put in this folder can be shared by anyone connected to your computer.

if you have any shared directories on your computer (you'll see a little hand under the folder or hard drive) then he can access your computer.

well you can see the hole share of c if you have administrator password but i also agree with the others will show shared folder probably faxs and printers also

ur boss was right. goto my computer and u will see a shared document there. if u dont have anythiing in there than she wont see anything. message me if u need more help...

She can browse your computer pare-say, but she probably can see what sites you have visited.
