It's a movie apparently about evangelism in south america; i heard that the title had the word "spears" like "lake of spears" this guy has a kid and is planning land on this amazonic region where there is a tribe who later would kill him and his friends with spears. It seems to be recent like maybe made in '05 or '06.
The guy is an north american.

END OF THE SPEARS 2005. This movie is the true story of these missionaries that later were killed, but here is the real freaky true life thing. The families of the missionaries eventually go back and live with the tribe to prove there faith in God and that their family members didn't die for nothing. There is a great documentary about this that just came out too, BEYOND THE GATES OF SPENDOR. You can rent both of them at Blockbuster right now.
