I have pellets, but it rains here often in the tropics, and every few days afterwards, there are more and more snails, I think I'll never rid myself of these critters, and simply don't have the time to remove 40+ every three to four days. I can find no way that they are getting here, but they do. It's those big ones with the brown stripes, we live on the coast.

They eat anything I try and grow that wasn't here already, forget about seeds.
Any suggestions?

Try iron phosphate. The product "Slugo" is this. I've used the "Slugo" & fertilizer grade Iron phosphate. They both worked well, non-toxic to pets, and help the soil.

What I do is plant mustards or large leaf lettuces in a corner of the garden and build a snail house (a bunch of bricks with holes) and let them live in that area. It seems to work great for me!

A good and cheap remedy for snail is beer traps. The snails will be attrached to the beer and go in for a drink. They will then become drunk and drown in the beer. This remedy is in many garden helpful hints articles.

You may try also to "cover up" your vunerable plants, starts and seedlings. Perhaps clear plastic with a few holes in it for venting?

Good Luck!

plates or shallow bowls of beer - they're attracted to it & drown
also, organic gardening says copper will kill them so for small areas i put copper strips (from any hardware store) AT my borders - it works, and doesn't wash away btw - which coast?

put boards (old 2x4's) out in your garden. They crawl under them at night, and in the morning you can just scrape them off the boards.

Plain old table salt. A few sprinkles will cause them to sizzle.
